One of the coolest things about running is when you pass it on. Our own Eric Blevens spent the last four years training or running each time he visited his family down in Warner Robins, Georgia. Each run garnered attention from his brother, who still plays soccer, and his dad, known among friends as Dr. B.
At 57, Dr. B is in pretty good shape. But after a few years of seeing his son set-out on runs and (probably annoyingly) hearing about the amazing benefits, he decided to give it a shot himself. 10 weeks ago he began training for his first half marathon, and in doing so has lost 10-12 lbs and run 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12 miles - all of which were farther than he'd ever run before, in his life.
And today, with 2 weeks until his big race, Dr. B hit a 4.25 mile run with Eric in Park City, Utah. Snow, elevation, and a lack of oxygen made for an awesome run and a great glimpse at one of the many running success stories.
Now, time for some snowboarding!
